Recording

The strict demands on the sound of a room of all SICUSKlassik productions lead to our puristic approach: the consequent use of classic stereo-microphone patterns. The specific type of the pattern depends on the location, the recordings are most carried out in the XY-process with two high-quality microphones whose signals are turned into the digital domain directly after having passed the preamp and are recorded with a resolution of 24 bit on a digital medium.

For the further process, a 32-bit format is used. As late as immediately before the creation of a premaster, the resolution gets reduced down to the 16-bit CD format, employing the most sophisticated redithering and noiseshaping processors.

The demand on the quality of the recordings is very high, higher than elsewhere in the classical field, to grant corresponding results by the elaborate processing with the high-end-tools in the studio.
