Manfred Ehrhorn

Manfred Ehrhorn was Professor of Choral Conducting and Music Pedagogy at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hannover until 1995. In 1961 he founded the Braunschweig Youth Choir, which around 1980 consisted of about 300 members in different age and ability groups. Ehrhorn directed this choir for 35 years in the context of a didactical method developed by him for the training and broadening of musical awareness, the aim of which was to enable young people to also confidently handle contemporary forms of expression. He also directed the Braunschweig Studio Choir, an oratorio choir, for 43 years.
