Christian Hartmann

The chamber musician Christian Hartmann was born in Berlin on 3 March 1950 and received instruction in piano, organ and oboe during his years at school. After completing his secondary school final examination, he studied oboe with Prof. Goritzki and piano with Prof. Dahlgrün at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hanover. Following completion of his studies in 1975, he became substitute solo oboist in the Braunschweig State Orchestra, advancing to solo oboist in 1989. From 1977 until 2001 he taught oboe and pedagogy/didactics at the Hanover Music Academy; since 1997 he has been teaching at the Braunschweig State Music School. From 1982 until 1997 he has been a member in the chamber ensemble "Consortium Classicum", founded in 1969, with which he has made many CD productions and undertaken many concert tours.
