Ingeborg Hischer

Ingeborg Hischer was born in Halle an der Saale. Following her education as a singer, she successfully worked at numerous international master courses during the early 1980s, with Ernst Haefliger in Zürich, Erika Köth in Vaduz, Josef Metternich in Karlsruhe, Ionel Pantea in Luxemburg, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf in Wolfenbüttel and with Gérard Souzay in Luxemburg and Paris.

She has a colourful voice with a velvet-like low range and a brilliant, powerful high range, enabling her to sing a wide range of repertoire. Thus she sings the alto parts of the Baroque as well as the dramatic mezzosoprano parts of the Classical and Romantic periods.

Ingeborg Hischer appears at home and abroad in Europe at sacred concerts, concertante operatic performances, song recitals and oratorios, and she can be heard on recordings and broadcasts. Following the recording of her first LP with MDG/ EMI Electrola and intensive concert activity, her debut with SICUSKlassik followed in 1997 with a brilliant album, the recital “Ingeborg Hischer sings Lieder of Schubert, Brahms, Wagner and Strauss”. This motivated SICUSKlassik to produce the two very internationally successful albums “Ave Maria im Spiegel der Zeiten” (Ave Maria through the Ages, Vols. 1 and 2). In 2006 she recorded the album “MISSA  —  Masses of the 20th Century, Vol. 1” with Joachim Dorfmüller for SICUSKlassik, 2007 followed by the album “NISI DOMINUS  —  Arias and Cantatas of the baroque at the Monastery Church Riddagshausen” followed by by the recital "Schubert: Winterreise" at SICUSKlassik on November 2014.
